Looking for Oil Testing agreement through a new hydroconversion upgrader.
This new upgrader offers a compelling opportunity to meet market demand for increased middle distillate and low sulphur fuel production. The world crude supply is becoming heavier, producing large amounts of residue with greater levels of sulphur and nitrogen contamination. Meanwhile, environmental legislation for clean burning fuels limit markets where heavy high sulphur fuels can be sold. The most viable long term solution for many refiners will be to choose an upgrading option to increase yields of light products from low value residues and fuel oil.
By using this new upgrader, residue through hydroconversion, refiners can change their product slate, generating higher margins and eliminating exposure to high sulphur fuel markets.
Heavy oil and bitumen producers are also examining the benefits of stand alone upgrader installations to eliminate the need for shipping with costly diluents, reduce exposure to heavy oil differentials and increase product marketability by improving quality.
There are approximately 22 million barrels per day of fuel oil being produced and sold as low grade fuel worldwide. Using this new upgrader, these low grade fuels can solve the problem of providing light clean transportation fuels. The potential profitability of hydrogen addition is even further increased by the ability to produce far more barrels of valuable petroleum products than traditional upgrading technologies, and with no coke production.
