Senior Drilling Engineer

Our client a major in the oil and gas ompany currently require a Senior Drilling Engineer to work a 6x2 rotation in Australia, on a 12 month contract with the possibility of an extension.
Main Job Responsibilities:

•As a Senior Drilling Engineer you will be expected to be able to prepare a drilling and work type program for subsea wells. You will be responsible for setting up a Drilling Engineering file system and preparation of the basic well programs and other engineering documents required in the drilling, workover and testing of subsea wells.
•The planning of all wells will use the minimum conditions of satisfaction from the clients Common Value Process.
•You are expected to visit the rig before critical operations to review procedures and help the Drilling Supervisor execute them. Your split between rig and office should be 20% rig, 80% office.
•Act as primary back-up for the Drilling Superintendent when required.
•Need to be self motivated and self directed, with a good background of practical engineering combined with field experience.
•Review and correct accordingly the daily look ahead sheet for the rig activity and distribute to the Wells Team.
•You are responsible for the accuracy and completion of the Technical Limit workbook for the well.
•You are responsible for the accuracy of the Lessons Learnt database.

Skills/Qualifications:

•A BS engineering degree
•Current IADC or IWCF well control certification
•Current physical, indicating that one can go offshore
