Can women apply?

Dear James,

I am curious.

I have been told that it is next to impossible for women to work in Saudi Arabia - and quite frankly, I'm not really interested, therefore, please consier my question strictly academic... although I have some friends from UT who may be interested.

Can women work in Saudi Arabia? I understand that at least one woman has, in fact worked successfully at Saudi Aramco. Is this rumor? Do you know?

I am accustomed to ignoring any offers of work from KSA and some other countries in the Middle East - even though I'm not personally afraid to travel to such locations, I have decided that life itself can be frustrating enough without expounding the normal vicissitudes with religious chauvanism.
