Petrobras makes onshore Brazil oil & gas discovery
Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) has made a discovery of oil and natural gas with an exploration well drilled onshore Brazil in the Espirito Santo Basin.
Brazil's government agency regulating the petroleum industry, the Agencia Nacional do Petroleo (ANP) said today that the find was achieved in the Fazenda Sao Rafael Field in Block FRS with its 3BRSA-850-ES well. It said that the well was drilled to a total depth of 2,160 meters (7,087 ft) with the Drillfor-8 rig.
The ANP cautioned, however, that the notice of a discovery is required by law and does not necessarily mean that the find is of significant reserves or can be commercially developed.
Petrobras is the operator of Block FRS and the discovery well with 100% interest.
