SALARY: TAX FREE SALARY GBP £4,500 - GBP £6,000 per month, inc benefits

LOCATION: Qatar

As Production Manager with an established and rapidly growing manufacturer of clean fuels (Methanol and MTBE), you will be responsible for the planning and management of operations to provide continued and uninterrupted supply of Methanol and MTBE to customers while maintaining assets to a high standard and meeting service, quality, environmental and cost targets. This is a high profile role demanding an experienced Production Manager with a demonstrable track record of success in the petrochemical industry. Responsibilities include:

Production: Plan, manage and participate in all plant activities in order to ensure that production plans and targets are met in the most cost-effective, reliable and safe manner

Operations: Direct and supervise the operation to ensure that the plants operate according to established operational standards, safety and environmental control.

Plant Modifications & Projects: Review, participate, and provide all necessary operational information and requirements to all new projects, plant modifications and changes to increase plant reliability, profit, and to enhance safety of the plant.

Maintenance Coordination: Work closely with Maintenance Department to develop, agree and coordinate implementation of efficient maintenance and overhaul programs.

Management Reporting: Ensure that reporting of activates of generation plants up and down the management ladder is done in a timely and effective manner.

Contractor Management: Provide a focus for senior level communication with third party contractors which includes drafting, negotiation, monitoring, controlling, etc to ensure that any contractual and operational issues are resolved in a satisfactory manner and the company receives a level of service which enables it to meet production operational and strategic objectives.

Departmental Planning: Develop production department yearly objectives and play key role in the development of the company's 5 years continuous business plan.

Budgeting & Cost Control: Direct the preparation of the Plant department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

Leadership: Ensure the effective achievement of production functional objectives through the leadership of the Plant department - setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximise subordinate and departmental performance.

Policies & Procedures: Direct the development and oversee the implementation of operational policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of Plant activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.

Safety, Quality & Environment: Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Plant department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Chemical Engineering and extensive experience in production in an oli & gas or petrochemical company (Methanol & MTBE experience is highly desirable). Experience in progressively increasing supervisory/managerial positions is essential, as is wide exposure to petrochemical production management practices and techniques and advanced knowledge and experience of the principles of unit operations, process integrations and troubleshooting.
