Job Description: Relief Head Operator - Refinery

A large and successful Refinery in Toronto, Ontario is looking for a Relief Head Operator

Job Duties

* All duties as performed by the Refinery Head Operator in their absence
* Ensuring that all product and quality production targets are met within the refinery.
* Direction and Coordination of work with other operators(s)
* Responsible for all aspects of refinery safety
* Coordination of plant equipment repair and maintenance
* Provide training to future potential operators
* Must play an active role in the refinery team environment

Qualifications

* 3rd Class Stationary Engineer, CET or Engineering Degree
* Previous refinery or chemical processing experience
* Must be willing to attend classes and be capable of training for and achieving B Class Refrigeration Certification within 18 months of job commencement
* Strong English verbal communication and writing skills required to interact with management, co-workers and other department staff

Technical Skills and Knowledge

* Previous refinery operating experience
* Knowledge of process controls, including a DCS system.
* Experience with an ammonia refrigeration system
* Familiar with various types of heat exchangers, pumps etc.
